A Table is a grid of cells where we arrange data in the form of row and column.

How to create a table in a document?

The steps to create a table in a document are given below:

Step 1: Click on Insert tab and select Insert Table button under Table option of the Table command group.
Step 2: After appearing Insert Table dialog box, enter the number of column and row in the Number of columns box and  Number of rows box respectively.
Step 3: Click on OK button.

We can also create table by dragging and selecting Column and Row from Table option of the Insert Ribbon.

Insert Row or Column in a Table

To insert a row or column -
1. Click on the desired cell and then right click on it.
2. Move the cursor on the Insert option.
3. Then, if you want to insert column then select either select Insert Column to the Left or Insert Column to the Right as your requirement, or if you want to insert row, then select either Insert Rows Above or Insert Rows Below according to your requirement.

Delete Row or Column in a Table

To insert a row or column -
1. Click on the desired row or column which one you want to delete.
2. Right click on the row or column.
3. Select either Delete columns or Delete rows as you want to delete.

Merge cell and Split cell

Using Merge cell option you can combine or join together two or more table cells located into same column or same row into a single cell.
Using Split cell option you can separate or divide a single cell into multiple cells, i.e. you can insert any number of row or column into a single cell.
