Hardware vs Software
Computer Hardware is the physical part of a computer system, which we
can touch and feel, such as CPU, mouse, keyboard, etc.
In other hand, Computer software is a set of
commands and instructions that can be stored and executed by the hardware.
E.g., Operating System (OS), MS-Word, Adobe Photoshop, etc.

Processor / Microprocessor (CPU)
A processor (CPU) is the logic circuitry that responds to and processes
the basic instructions and commands to run a computer. It is called the brain
of a computer. The CPU is seen as the main and most crucial Integrated Circuit
(IC) chip in a computer, as it is responsible for interpreting most of
computer’s commands. Most processors today are multi-core, which means that the
IC contains two or more processors for enhanced performance, reduced power consumption
and more efficient simultaneous processing of multiple tasks.

The CPU has the following three main parts to perform all operations:
- CU (Control Unit) – It controls the flow of data within the system. It controls and monitors communications between the hardware attached to the computer.
- ALU (Arithmetic and Logical Unit) – CPU performs all the arithmetic and logical operations using ALU. ALU takes help of accumulator to perform all these.
- MU (Memory Unit) – It holds all the data and programs that is currently using.

- EEPROM (Electronically Erasable Programmable ROM)
RAM vs ROM
RAM
- RAM stands for Random Access Memory.
- RAM is a volatile memory.
- It is a read and write memory.
- The content gets erase once the power goes off.
ROM
- ROM stands for Read Only Memory.
- ROM is a non-volatile memory.
- It s a read only memory.
- The content remains same as the power goes off.
