MS Word is an application, word-processing software designed and developed by Microsoft Corporation in USA. The extension name of MS Word file is .DOCX (from 2007 onward).

Title Bar
It is the top most bar of the MS Word window. It show the name of the current file name. By default it opens with Document1. At the right side of the bar Minimize, Maximize / Restore and Close buttons are placed.
Ribbons
There are total 7 Ribbons present in MS Word window - Home, Insert, Page Layout, References, Mailings, Review, View. Each and every Ribbon has some predefined command groups, such as Home has - Clipboard, Paragraph, Font, Style, Editing.
Status Bar
Status Bar is the bottom most bar of the MS Word window. It displays the current position of the cursor and many more statistics about the current document, such as total number of words, paragraphs, etc. present in the current document.
Horizontal and Vertical Scroll Bar
If the document size becomes very big, then it will not fit on the monitor screen. Then we scroll up and down (using Vertical Scroll Bar) or right and left (using Horizontal Scroll Bar) to see the invisible part of the document.
Ruler
Ruler is used to set the margin of the current document page from all the sides (4 sides).
Text Area
Text Area is the main working area of Word window, where we type anything or insert any image. It presents just below of Ruler.
Quick Access Tool Bar
Quick Access Tool Bar contains some frequently used options with it's icons, such as Save, Open, Copy, Paste, etc.
